This Featured Spa takes us down to the Jersey Shore.   Salon du Monde located on Arnold Avenue in Point Pleasant, New Jersey is a small, but attractive location with numerous amenities.

So what is the good the bad and the ugly?

The good – MASSAGE, MASSAGE, MASSAGE.   When looking at a lifetime of over 100+ massages, this ranks as one of the top 10 Best by our Expert Reviews. The therapists name was Lisa and she is a thin, red-head who knows her stuff.

What made the massage different from others? Because it was just that – Different than other massages. It didn’t matter that I signed up for a simple Swedish Massage, because she personally designs each massage specifically to the clients needs.

She started with a Swedish massage, but then, metamorphed into a Lomi Lomi massage when she got to the calf muscles.   Then she added some peppermint aromatherapy when she was doing my feet, and topped it off with a few carefully placed hot stones on my lower back.

I have never had a massage that was so non-specifically wonderful.   The massage experience incorporated at least 5 different massage styles and techniques and treated each part of the body as it’s own separate part of the whole.

For this reason alone, I am featuring this spa for their unique approach to massage therapy.

Shizuka New York

This Medi-Spa is located in the heart of mid-town New York.  Although it is difficult to find, located on the 6th floor of the Banco Popular building at Rockefeller Center, this Spa offers one of the best facials we have ever experienced.

Shizuka's Signature facial is in a word . . . Magnificent.  The technical skill of the practitioners are exemplary and your skin is left feeling smooth, clean and the anti-aging properties in the products she uses are sublime.

The facials at Shizuka NY are superior to others, signified by feather light facial massages, to unique products. 

Granted that some of their product choices and specialty skin care goes beyond the norm (for example, their Geisha Facial includes the use of sanitized Nightengale Droppings), the experience is like no other.

The Mystic Garden, SC

Luxurious is the word for the Mystic Garden in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  You feel pampered from the moment you walk through the door.  The front office staff is very well spoken and you are taken in, on time, but you never feel rushed. 

The technical staff is very skilled and they are very trained in cleanliness and sanitation practices. 

Their prices may be on the higher side for South Carolina, they are worth every cent.

They have a wide range of massages which in itself makes them unique.  Shiatsu, Powder (medium touch), amma - also called an Asian Massage, sports massage, and deep tissue, are all conducted on heated tables which adds even more to the overall experience.

An added bonus, they are located next to their sister salon, Mirage Hair Services, so that you can have a wash and a blow out after your spa treatments so you are ready for an evening out.

Because of their overall attention to detail, their professionalism, their package offerings, their attention to sanitary detail, and their abilities to offer a wide range of spa services as well as hair treatments, The Mystic Garden has been rated one of our 10 Best Salon - Spa experiences.

LaCascata Salon and Spa, NJ

When entering Lascata Salon and Day Spa you are immediately entranced by the warmth and ambiance of this Day Spa experience. But what sets them apart are their signature treatments including their facial and skin care techniques.
